Our Mission:
We love chess. Through this project, we aim to have a positive impact in terms of more chess being played by making tournament organization and participation easier, faster and more reliable.

When finding players becomes easier, organizers can focus on what they do best -delivering high-quality chess events.

When receiving and increased amount of tournament invites and thus consequently more financial resources to commit more time to chess, players can focus on what they do best -
delivering high quality chess play.

We are happy, when we can increase both. That is our Matchmaker promise!
Meet the Team:

Jan Pubantz
Jan Pubantz is a chess player from Hannover, Germany. He reached a >2300 rating at age 14, is a former German youth chess champion and has since participated in several IM-Tournaments as a player, while also helping to organize such tournaments for the Lower Saxony Chess Association. In both roles, he noticed the difficulties associated with finding the right players for these tournaments at reasonable compensation rates. Accordingly, he had the idea to set up Chess Player Matchmaker, helping tournament organizers and players alike to make the process faster, easier and more reliable. Jan is the contact person organizers looking for players and players aspiring to receive tournament invites through the site.

Thore Meiwes
Thore Meiwes is also from Hannover and reached his rating peak at 2136 Elo at age 17. He has since focused on pursuing a career in business and politics but stayed loyal to the game nonetheless. He focuses on all business and backoffice aspects of the project.
